My Top 5 Favorite Movies

I decided I’d actually make a post once in awhile, so today I’m doing my top 5 favorite movies and why. I’ll try to switch it up with the genres and such!

(no specific order)

5. Mean Girls

I’m sorry, so unoriginal, I know… But I seriously do laugh every time I watch it & I think it is by far one of the best quotable movies ever. Okay, it’s unoriginal, I know, every girl loves this movie; but it never does fail to entertain me.

4. Taken

I’m not typically a fan of dramas or movies like this, but this is one I really do enjoy. I’m not sure what it is about it. I guess the plot never bores me, no matter when I watch this movie. I love the concept, too. Honestly, it’s one thing I never thought of before I saw the movie. Sure, I’m narrow minded… Or blinded by the happy suburbia in which I reside. Either or, it opened up my mind. (Plus now I’m kind of scared to go to Europe… and Albania)

3. 500 Days of Summer

Another predictable romantic comedy, sure, but for some reason this one is hands down my favorite. I feel like it’s different, I just haven’t been able to point out why. I’m thinking that I enjoy the humor and wittiness to it. I absolutely love the ending; very clever. One of my favorite things about the movie is how they do like those little breaks in the movie where the main characters will be in an old black and white film. I also love how the story line is presented, jumping back and forth in time. “They called me anal girl.”

2. Superbad

Probably my favorite comedy. I hate Seth, though. Michael Cera, marry me. I’m thinking his role has much to do with as to why I enjoy this movie the way I do. There’s really no analytical explanation as to why I enjoy this movie besides the fact that it makes me laugh. My favorite part is when “McLovin” gets his fake ID & Seth like flips shit and stuff. Hilarious. McLovin is really funny too.

1. The Social Network

Okay, I think everyone besides me hates this movie. I fucking love it. I’m not sure why. I get extremely jealous when watching it. I guess I’m just fascinated with the intelligence that Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin both posses. I wish I was smart enough to get a perfect SAT score and get into Harvard. I’m infatuated with the legal difficulties and lawsuits Facebook battled, and still does to this day. Such an interesting story behind the company. Plus Andrew Garfield is pretty sexy… But another reason I enjoy it is because of the role crew plays in the story. I row and it’s not very common for crew to be in movies (However, in 500 Days of Summer, Summer did date a rower way back when). I read the book about Facebook, as well, and also numerous internet stories. I’m weird, I know.

Honorable Mention:

Bridesmaids, Juno

(Short, I know, I just felt these movies deserved SOME recognition)
